| We are looking for a volunteer in Shoreline to provide a group of Korean immigrants with English language instruction and cross-cultural orientation to help them gain more self-sufficiency. You won't need to have previous teaching experience or knowledge of a foreign language: We'll provide a training on English language instruction techniques and lesson planning beforehand. Learning subjects are for instance: making a medical appointment, talking to store clerks, or calling 9-1-1. Of course, if you do come from a Korean background, that would be a great plus, but again, this is definitely not required. We do ask that you be available for a period of at least 6 months. The St. James ESL Program is a non-sectarian, volunteer and community-based organization that provides free English instruction to adult refugees and low-income immigrants in Seattle and King County.
